I am a surfer and there a lot of big fish out there. With recent attacks on the east coast why not get one.I don't have any experience yet with a shark while wearing it. So I can not confirm if it really works or not. I hope I never do. The reviews are good though with many instances that it works, that is why I purchased it.How long does it last? I could the pulse before but not now.Works great - and I feel saferNot used yet, and hope, I will never use it actively and meet the shart, but like a prevention, small costs to save my life and my family.. very good investment.. They are comfortable and even the kids are fine wearing them!Works so far, no sharks!It use strong magnets If you have a pacemaker,, etc. You cannot use it. Any type of device, cell phone, credit cards, you have to keep it in its special casing.Well we didn't get eatenI purchased this knowing I was going into the water to film 6 different shark species.The bands made absolutely zero effect on shark behavior.Also whilst fitting the strap onto my wrist the very first time the retainer loop for the unused length of strap broke, it simply split and is very clearly a glued joint.I purchased two of these and will be politely requesting a refund.I am currently filming underwater with Tiger, WhiteTip, Black Tip, Grey Reef, Nurse, Lemon Sharks and also sting rays, all at very close (Inches) contact. Had no sighting of sharks but was rest assured knowing I had this protection on my ankle. The actual device was of no hindrance to my performance in fact I completed the event 10minutes quicker than the previous year.It's basically like the Simpsons episode where Lisa tells Homer that a rock would protect you from bear attacks and Homer wants to know how much he has to pay for said rock.It's piece of mind when in the water until you get attacked by a shark I guess.If it doesn't work and you get attacked I guess you could throw the band at the shark because it does have some weight in it.
