An Aquatex barrier keeps you dry and blocks wind, Thinsulate keeps hands warm – 100g on the back of the hand, 40g on the palm so you can feel the heat from your heated grips, if you have them. Draw-corded gauntlets keep cold out, and knuckle protection under the leather isn’t flashy, but is there to protect and does its job.
Aqua-Tex liner for protection against elements.
Thinsulate 40g on palm- 100g on back of hand for warmth; allows heat from heated grips to pass through!
Integrated flexible protective knuckles for dexterity and comfort.
Tough-Tek reinforced palm for protection.
Reflective piping for added visibility.
I had the same Olympia gloves for 9 years and wore the snot outta them and was excited to replace them based on the good history... I’ve been riding with them daily this winter. The general quality is okay but the wrist cinch cord is useless (worked great in prior pair). The cord is too weak to cinch the stiff gauntlet... I basically strained the life out of the elastic. I’m not sure if it is a weaker cord than before, but I think actually it is that the gauntlet is too stiff and unyielding.I find the warmth adequate for the most part since in the winter my riding is largely limited to commuting and in city errands... but your fingers will freeze pretty quickly if the temperature is in the 40’s.As I ride year round commuting in the Pacific NW this is a major bummer as cold drafts bugger my wrists and sometimes rain gets in too... the old pair would’ve worked solid.
